Position summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate to intern as a member of our Mission Advancement budget/finance team. As this is an entry-level position, no prior accounting/finance experience is required; however, the candidate must have a strong interest and educational foundation in accounting and finance. Interns are encouraged to allocate some of their time to participate in community worship and special events held at our national office. This is a paid internship.

The intern will get broad experience in the many operational areas: not-for-profit and fund accounting, financial budgeting/reporting/analysis (monthly closing, report generation, and variance reviews), accounts receivable/invoicing/follow-up, as well as gift processing and related controls. The intern will also undertake special projects to analyze the results of our first major fundraising campaign (e.g., review campaign performance, evaluate our system that tracked multi-year pledges, test a model to discount and project cash flows from planned gifts raised during the campaign, etc.).
