Requirements for summer internship:
Prospective summer interns must be at least 18 years of age and should be enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program.
This is a full-time, hourly position: 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.
If selected, interns are responsible for securing housing for the summer.
Individuals who have held internship positions with the churchwide organization in the past are not eligible.
Preferred start date is June 3, 2019. End date to be determined based on return to school date.
The Global Service team oversees the recruitment, discernment, hiring, training, deployment, and support for nearly 230 international personnel serving in approximately 40 countries around the world, including approximately 80 Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) volunteers. The Global Service team is taking on new initiatives in networking and supporting YAGM alumni as they return to the United States.
The Global Service intern will assist Young Adults in Global Mission with the development of a YAGM alumni engagement program. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Assisting in the accrual, organization, and networking use of data from more than 1,000 existing YAGM alumni.
* Assisting in the compilation of vocational, faith-based, and other support resources for returned YAGM volunteers.
* Assisting the Global Service Team with summer event planning and execution, including the July New Missionary Orientation, the July Summer
* Missionary Conference and its Children’s Program, and the August YAGM orientation program.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
