Job Description:

Requirements for summer internship:

Prospective summer interns must be at least 18 years of age and should be enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program.

This is a full-time, hourly position: 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.

If selected, interns are responsible for securing housing for the summer.

Individuals who have held internship positions with the churchwide organization in the past are not eligible.

Preferred start date is June 3, 2019.End date to be determined based on return to school date.

Position summary

This is an opportunity for an impact and service focused individual who has a passion for non-profits and the success of its mission.The position will help to manage the delivery of ELCA IT and program-area projects through the oversight of resources, quality, scope and timeline, utilizing tools and techniques for the implementation of deliverables such as software, hardware, events, and process updates.

We are looking for an organized, engaging and motivated candidate who has the knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge theories and/or agile methodologies; and possesses innovative and creative ideas to ensure that task owners are able to complete assignments for the support of the organization.

Physical Effort.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. This position requires sitting for long periods of time. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Experience and Skills:

1.Project management coursework.An understanding of Project Management Body of Knowledge is nice to have.

2.Strong and proven communication skills with an understanding of stakeholder management, negotiation and conflict management.

3.Organizational, prioritization and time management skills.

4. Excellent verbal and written skills to conduct meetings as well as create and manage project notes and documentation.Ability to articulate technical issues into commonplace language to a diverse audience

5.Ability to motivate, teach and engage with project team members.

6.Experience with Microsoft products
